A significant fire erupted at an electrical substation located on Nestles Avenue in Hayes late last night, leading to the evacuation of nearby residents and the establishment of a safety cordon.
The London Fire Brigade dispatched ten fire engines and approximately 70 firefighters to the scene after receiving the first emergency call at 11:23 PM. Upon arrival, crews found part of the substation engulfed in flames. As a precautionary measure, around 20 individuals from neighboring properties were evacuated, and a 100-meter cordon was implemented to ensure public safety.
The Brigade’s Control Officers reported receiving over 190 calls related to the incident, highlighting the fire’s impact on the local community. Firefighters from Hayes, Heathrow, Hillingdon, Southall, and surrounding stations were mobilized to tackle the blaze.
